QA Lead – Manual & Automation Testing

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA Lead – Manual & Automation Testing to own product quality across manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Playwright + TypeScript, QA leadership, test strategy, API testing, SQL, and CI/CD integration.

This is a player-coach role where you will lead the QA team while remaining hands-on with automation.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and standardize QA processes, test plans, test cases, traceability, and defect management across projects.
- Develop risk-based test strategies, regression plans, and quality gates.
- Lead functional, exploratory, usability, regression, cross-browser, and cross-device testing.
- Ensure accessibility testing against WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Coordinate UAT with clients and stakeholders.
- Build, maintain, and own the Playwright + TypeScript automation framework.
- Develop automated tests for critical end-to-end user journeys.
- Manage test data, authentication, parallel execution, and test isolation.
- Identify and reduce flaky automated tests.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with DevOps on containerized, parallel, and sharded test execution.
- Ensure automated test failures provide useful traces, screenshots, videos, and logs.
- Define release quality gates and participate in go/no-go decisions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop manual and automation QA engineers.
- Track and report quality metrics such as defect density, production escape rate, automation coverage, and defect detection time.




- Collaborate closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture teams.

Required Skills
- 7+ years of QA/testing experience
- 2+ years of QA Lead/Team Lead experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript
- Experience building and maintaining Playwright automation frameworks
- Robust manual testing and test planning experience
- API testing and validation
- SQL for database validation
- CI/CD pipeline integration
- Jira or equivalent defect management tools
- Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Strong understanding of automation strategy and testing best practices

- Docker
- k6, JMeter, or other performance testing tools
- Appium/mobile automation
- OWASP Top 10 and security testing fundamentals
- Visual regression and contract testing
- AI-assisted test development
- Testing AI-driven/non-deterministic features
- ISTQB Advanced Level certification
- Government/public-sector project experience

Education B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
