Position overview: We are looking for a QA Engineer to provide technical quality assurance for data moving through APIs, orchestration services, and databases. You will focus on validating payloads, tracing transactions across distributed services, querying databases, isolating defects, and building automated regression coverage.

- Responsibilities: Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, scenarios, and evidence for API, integration, database, and data quality testing.
- Construct and execute API requests using Postman, cURL, Swagger, OpenAPI tooling, or equivalent tools.
- Inspect request and response payloads and validate schemas, required fields, transformations, business rules, status codes, and error responses.
- Write SQL and database queries to compare source, processed, persisted, and consumed data.
- Trace individual transactions across intake, processing, orchestration, persistence, and consumption layers to identify the point of failure.
- Test positive, negative, boundary, retry, idempotency, duplicate, incomplete data, and failure recovery scenarios.
- Validate invoice completeness and accuracy, including field level reconciliation across source and downstream outputs.
- Log defects with reproducible steps, payloads, query evidence, observed versus expected results, severity, and likely failure point.
- Collaborate with developers, product, architecture, and downstream teams to clarify acceptance criteria and resolve defects.




- Create and maintain automated API, integration, data validation, and regression tests, prioritizing critical paths and repeatable scenarios.
- Support component, integration, and end to end test cycles.
- Report test execution, defect trends, coverage gaps, risks, and readiness using concise, evidence based status updates.
- Requirements: Demonstrated experience in a QA Engineer, SDET, Test Automation Engineer, or comparable technical testing role.
- Strong hands on API testing experience, including creating calls and analyzing JSON request and response payloads.
- Ability to work effectively with Swagger and OpenAPI specifications and API documentation.
- Strong SQL skills and experience validating data directly within relational databases.
- Experience testing integrations or distributed services where a transaction passes through multiple components.
- Ability to independently isolate whether a defect originates in source data, API processing, orchestration, persistence, or consumption.
- Experience designing or extending automated tests for APIs, integrations, or data pipelines.
- Explicit written communication and disciplined defect documentation.
- Nice to have: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, and cloud based services.
- Experience testing event driven workflows, orchestration engines, microservices, or ETL and data processing pipelines.
- Experience with contract testing, schema validation, CI/CD integrated test execution, and test reporting.
- Exposure to invoice, itinerary, travel, booking, or other transaction heavy data domains.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering and product teams in an Agile delivery model.
