We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage end-to-end procurement activities for our chicken processing plant. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packaging materials, engineering spares, consumables and other operational requirements while ensuring the best quality, competitive pricing and timely availability.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage complete purchase and procurement activities for the processing plant.
- Source and develop reliable vendors for raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, spare parts and general requirements.
- Obtain quotations, compare rates and negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production interruptions and material shortages.
- Monitor market prices and identify cost-saving and alternate sourcing opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Maintenance, Accounts and Management for purchase requirements.
- Raise and monitor Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with Stores for stock levels, material requirements and inventory planning.
- Verify purchase specifications, quantities, quality and delivery against approved requirements.
- Handle vendor issues related to quality, shortage, price differences and delayed deliveries.
- Maintain purchase records, quotations,



comparative statements, vendor details and procurement MIS.
- Monitor pending POs, purchase price variations and procurement costs.
- Ensure procurement follows company policies, food safety requirements and applicable standards.

Requirements

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Purchase / Procurement.
- Experience in Poultry, Chicken Processing, Frozen Food, FMCG, Food Processing or Manufacturing industry preferred.
- Strong vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Good knowledge of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering spares and consumables.
- Knowledge of ERP / Purchase Software, Tally and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle urgent procurement requirements and work in a quick-paced manufacturing environment.
- Immediate Joiners preferred.
- Candidates from Udumalpet and surrounding areas will be given preference.

Educational Qualification Graduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or a related field. MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Materials Management will be an added advantage.
