Job Summary The Purchase Executive will be responsible for procuring raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and other items required for the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the concrete/RMC plant. The role involves vendor coordination, quotation comparison, price negotiation, purchase order processing, delivery follow-up, inventory coordination, and maintaining purchase records.

Key Responsibilities

1. Raw Material Procurement

- Arrange timely procurement of concrete plant raw materials such as:
- Cement
- Sand / M-Sand
- Coarse Aggregates
- Fly Ash / GGBS
- Admixtures
- Other concrete additives as required
- Coordinate with suppliers according to daily/weekly plant requirements.
- Ensure continuous availability of critical materials to avoid production interruptions.

2. Plant Consumables & Other Purchases

- Purchase plant consumables, tools, safety items, lubricants, oils, electrical items and other regularly required materials.
- Coordinate procurement of maintenance items and minor spare parts as per plant requirements.
- Process urgent purchases whenever required for plant operations.

3. Vendor Management

- Identify and develop reliable local and regular suppliers.
- Obtain quotations from multiple vendors and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate prices, credit terms,



transportation charges and delivery schedules.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and resolve supply-related issues.

4. Purchase Order & Documentation

- Prepare and process Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.
- Maintain quotation, comparative statement, PO and supplier records.
- Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification and payment-related queries.
- Ensure proper documentation of all purchases.

5. Delivery & Logistics Coordination

- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with transporters and suppliers regarding vehicle placement and material delivery.
- Monitor pending orders and ensure materials reach the plant as scheduled.
- Handle delays, shortages and other delivery issues.

6. Inventory Coordination

- Coordinate with Stores/Plant personnel to monitor stock levels.
- Maintain minimum stock levels for critical materials and consumables.
- Check material requirements before placing orders.
- Avoid both material shortages and unnecessary excess inventory.

7. Quality Coordination

- Coordinate with the Quality/Lab team regarding specifications and approval of raw materials.
- Ensure materials are purchased only from approved/reliable suppliers.
- Report quality issues to suppliers and coordinate for corrective action or replacement.

8. Cost Control

- Regularly check market prices of cement,



aggregates, sand and other materials.
- Negotiate competitive rates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor transportation and delivery costs.
- Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets and company procedures.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of RMC/Concrete Plant procurement.
- Knowledge of cement, aggregates, sand, admixtures and plant consumables.
- Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and purchase/ERP software.
- Ability to handle multiple suppliers and urgent requirements.
- Good coordination with Plant, Production, Quality, Stores and Accounts departments.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Diploma/B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical or related field will be an advantage.
- 2–5 years of relevant purchase/procurement experience, preferably in RMC, concrete, construction or infrastructure industry.
