Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Purchase Engineer (Fabrication Only) role based in Bhopal. The role involves managing end-to-end purchasing activities for fabrication-related materials, components, and services, ensuring timely availability of high-quality inputs for production. Day-to-day tasks include planning and raising purchase orders, evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices and terms, and coordinating with fabrication, quality, and stores teams to align procurement with project requirements.

The Purchase

Engineer will monitor vendor performance,



maintain accurate purchasing records, and use analytical insights to optimize cost, lead time, and inventory levels. The role also includes ensuring compliance with company standards and supporting continuous improvement in purchasing processes.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in purchasing processes and purchase management, with experience in fabrication or heavy engineering environments.
- Candidates should possess skills in purchase planning and handling purchase orders, including vendor evaluation, negotiation, and order tracking.
- Candidates should possess analytical skills to interpret data, compare quotations, optimize costs, and support decision-making in procurement.
- Relevant experience in fabrication-only purchasing, preferably in bridge bearings, steel structures, or heavy fabrication industries.
- Knowledge of basic engineering drawings, material specifications, and quality standards for steel and related fabrication materials.
- Proficiency in using ERP or procurement software, MS Office (Excel, Word), and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation abilities, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred; prior on-site purchasing experience in Bhopal or similar locations is an advantage.
