Consultant Pulmonologist

Position: Consultant – Pulmonology / Respiratory Medicine

Location: Krishna Hospitals, Vijayawada

Employment: Full-time / Visiting Consultant

Role Summary

Krishna Hospitals is looking for an experienced Pulmonologist to provide comprehensive diagnosis and management of respiratory and pulmonary disorders and help develop a strong Pulmonology OPD and inpatient service.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct Pulmonology OPD consultations and inpatient reviews.
- Diagnose and manage asthma, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory infections, ILD, tuberculosis, pleural diseases and sleep-related breathing disorders.
- Manage respiratory emergencies including acute breathlessness, respiratory failure and severe asthma/COPD exacerbations.
- Perform/supervise procedures such as bronchoscopy, pleural procedures and pulmonary function testing, as per hospital facilities and expertise.
- Manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, NIV/CPAP/BiPAP and ventilatory support in coordination with ICU teams.
- Evaluate and manage patients with suspected sleep apnea and other sleep-related disorders.
- Coordinate with ICU, Emergency, General Medicine, Radiology and other specialties.




- Provide pre-operative pulmonary assessment and optimization where required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and formulate treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow hospital/NABH protocols.
- Conduct respiratory health camps, smoking cessation counselling and awareness programs.
- Support development and growth of the Pulmonology Department and referral network.

Qualifications
- MD/DNB in Respiratory Medicine / Pulmonary Medicine
- Valid medical registration.
- Experience in independent clinical practice preferred.
- Experience in ICU and respiratory procedures preferred.
