OB DESCRIPTION – PROJECT MANAGER (BOILER PROJECTS)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Project Manager – Boiler Projects to lead the execution of large and complex industrial boiler projects. The ideal candidate should have 15–20 years of hands-on experience in boiler project execution and should have successfully handled projects involving boilers ranging from 1 TPH to 100 TPH capacity.

The candidate will be responsible for complete project execution from planning and mobilization through erection, installation, commissioning, trial run and final handover to the client.

Key Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for end-to-end execution of boiler and associated industrial projects.

Plan, execute and monitor projects from project kick-off to successful commissioning and handover.

Handle projects involving 1 TPH to 100 TPH boilers, including large-capacity and complex industrial installations.

Lead and coordinate boiler erection, installation, piping, equipment erection, testing and commissioning activities.

Review project drawings, technical specifications, BOQ, project schedules and execution plans.

Prepare detailed project execution plans, manpower plans, material requirements and site schedules.

Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, Quality, Service, Stores and Accounts teams for smooth project execution.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.

Monitor project progress against approved timelines, budgets and quality requirements.

Identify project risks, delays and technical issues and take timely corrective actions.

Manage site manpower, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other resources effectively.

Ensure availability of materials, equipment, tools and manpower as per project requirements.





Monitor project costs and ensure execution within approved budget.

Conduct regular project review meetings and submit progress reports to management.

Ensure compliance with approved quality, safety and statutory requirements at project sites.

Coordinate inspection, testing, hydro testing, commissioning and performance trials.

Resolve technical and execution-related issues at site in coordination with concerned departments.

Ensure proper documentation, completion certificates, commissioning reports and final project handover.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, wherever required.

Handle large-scale industrial projects and coordinate with multiple agencies and stakeholders.

Travel extensively to project sites as required.

Required Technical Experience The candidate should have solid practical exposure to:

Industrial Steam Boilers / Hot Water Boilers / Thermic Fluid Systems

Boiler erection and installation

Boiler commissioning and trial runs

Boiler piping and associated equipment

Pressure parts and boiler auxiliaries

Pumps, fans, valves and related mechanical equipment

Fuel handling and combustion systems

Electrical and instrumentation coordination

Hydro testing and pre-commissioning activities

Performance testing and troubleshooting

Site execution and project closure

Candidate Profile

15–20 years of overall experience, preferably in Boiler / Power / Thermal / Process Engineering projects.

Proven experience in handling complete boiler projects from installation to commissioning and handover.

Must have worked on boilers ranging from 1 TPH to 100 TPH, with substantial exposure to larger industrial projects.

Should have independently handled major/large-scale industrial projects.

Strong understanding of boiler project execution, site management and commissioning.

Excellent leadership, communication and client-handling skills.

Ability to manage multiple teams and contractors at different project sites.

Willingness to travel extensively across India and stay at project locations as required.

Qualification

B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Candidates with relevant extensive boiler project experience will be preferred.

Preferred Background

Candidates currently working or having worked with Boiler Manufacturers, EPC Companies, Power Plants, Thermal Engineering Companies, Process Industries or Industrial Project Execution Companies will be preferred.
