Role Overview The Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational execution and documentation backbone of the programme. This is a coordination, documentation, and project support role. They will work as the operational interface across workstreams: Project management, implementation, stakeholder coordination.
This role requires good project management capabilities, experience in public health program implementation, epidemiological studies, research, familiarity with NHM and government healthcare systems, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
A. Project Management & Tracking
Maintain and track project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and action items; proactively identify delays and escalate critical issues.
Prepare periodic project status reports, highlighting progress, key achievements, pending actions, risks, and support required.
Coordinate with track owners and stakeholders to monitor progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Maintain project governance documents, including meeting minutes, action trackers, decision logs, and project documentation.
B. Project Documentation
Draft the project management framework for the phase-wise implementation, such as work plan, M&E; structure, and escalation pathways
Draft internal SOPs and checklists for the team, including deployment protocols, site readiness procedures, platform feedback processes, and field supervision checklists
Prepare the training toolkit for healthcare workers (ASHA, ANM, CHO, MO, DPC), user manual, FAQs, and quick-reference guides.
Develop the training and capacity-building plan in coordination with the program team
Support preparation of concept notes, funding proposals, presentations, and evidence-based reports
C. Research & Baseline Assessment
Conduct secondary research and data analysis on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), common cancers, and related public health priorities to support program planning and decision-making.
Compile,
analyse, and present epidemiological, demographic, and health system data to establish baseline assessments and identify program opportunities.
Conduct market research and landscape assessments to support business planning, partnership development, and program expansion strategies.
Track relevant government initiatives, policies, funding mechanisms via donors, development agencies, funding organisations, and industry trends related to preventive healthcare, cancer screening, and digital health.
D. Project Implementation Support
Manage project implementation activities by coordinating site readiness, deployment plans, stakeholder engagement, and field operations to ensure timely execution of project milestones.
Coordinate with government stakeholders, field teams, vendors, and partners for screening tool deployment, installation, testing, training, IEC activities, and operational readiness at implementation sites.
Prepare and maintain implementation documentation, including deployment plans, readiness checklists, communications, progress reports, and other project records.
Conduct field supervision activities, track implementation progress, document key observations, and follow up on action items.
Undertake additional project-related assignments and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Lead or management from time to time.
Required Qualifications & Experience
MBBS / BDS/AYUSH with a master s degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related field. or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
3+ years of experience in programme coordination, project management, or operations in a public health, NGO, or healthcare setting
Prior experience with government health programmes (NHM, NP-NCD, district health systems), digital health / epidemiological studies is a strong advantage
Demonstrable experience drafting SOPs, training materials, or operational frameworks
Experience with field-level coordination, data collection, or pilot deployments is preferred
Skills
Excellent written communication: ability to draft transparent, professional documents independently
Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; comfort with project tracking tools
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams with minimal supervision
Comfortable in fast-paced, early-stage programme environments with evolving priorities
Working knowledge of the public health system (NHM, HWCs, CPHC-NCD guidelines) is preferred
Willingness to travel to project implementation sites as required

The Program
Coordinator will support the Consultant(Public Health) by drafting SOPs/checklists/training toolkits, maintaining project trackers, preparing status reports, coordinating with internal teams, field teams, vendors and other stakeholders, and supporting pilot site readiness and deployment activities. This role will strengthen operational discipline, reduce delays across workstreams, and maintain updates on project progress. Therefore, hiring this position is justified to support timely implementation and scale-up readiness of the Public Health Project.
