Position: Production Supervisor LT Power & Control Cables

Department: Manufacturing / Production

Reports to: Production Manager / Plant Head

Location: Udwada, Valsad, Gujarat

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in cable manufacturing industry

Job Responsibilities:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations of LT Power and Control Cables, ensuring production targets are met with optimal quality, safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

- Supervise end-to-end production activities including conductor stranding, insulation, laying up, inner/outer sheathing, armouring, and drum packing.
- Ensure production plans are executed as per schedule and output targets.
- Monitor machine performance and optimize line efficiency and cycle time.
- Coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance

Manpower Management

- Allocate manpower effectively across shifts and production lines.
- Supervise operators, technicians, and helpers.
- Train shop-floor personnel on SOPs, safety, and quality practices.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.

Safety & Compliance

- Enforce safety rules and safe working practices on the shop floor.
- Ensure use of PPE and compliance with statutory and internal safety norms.
- Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.

Materials & Inventory





- Coordinate with stores and planning for raw material availability.
- Minimize material loss and ensure proper handling of copper/aluminum, PVC/XLPE, armouring materials, etc.
- Maintain production records and shift reports.

Continuous Improvement

- Implement 5S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvement and cost reduction.
- Support process improvements and current product development trials.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of LT Power & Control Cable manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with extrusion lines, stranding machines, armouring, and laying-up machines
- Understanding of IS/IEC standards
- Leadership and team management skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Basic computer skills (ERP, MS Excel, production reporting)
- Good communication and coordination skills

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering

Preferred Experience

- Experience in LT/HT cable manufacturing industry
- Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS/ISO 45001 systems
