Job Title : Production Manager

Reporting to : MD/GM Operations

KR Summary:

Production Manager to oversee the production process of retractable roofing systems. you are responsible for managing the production team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products, and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the production process, ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

· Maintain Optimal Inventory Levels: Ensure that raw materials, components, and finished goods inventory levels are maintained as per the Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements. Conduct regular stock audits and implement corrective actions to address discrepancies.

· Material Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile production output against material consumption as specified in the BOM. Identify and investigate any variances to minimize wastage and ensure accurate inventory valuation.

· Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with procurement and vendors to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory costs.

2. Production Planning and Execution:

· Strategic Production Planning: Develop and execute production plans aligned with customer demand forecasts and delivery schedules. Coordinate with sales, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless production flow.

· Resource Allocation: Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials effectively to maximize productivity and meet production targets. Adjust schedules and resources as needed to accommodate changing priorities or unexpected delays.

· Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures at each stage of production to uphold product standards and minimize rework or defects.

3. Manpower Management:

· Skill-Based Allocation: Assess and assign tasks based on employee skills and proficiency to optimize output and minimize downtime.

· Attendance and Shift Management: Monitor attendance, enforce shift schedules, and address any absenteeism or staffing issues promptly.

· Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for skill enhancement among production staff. Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.

4. Daily Operations:

· Real-Time Updates:



Maintain a White Board for real-time tracking of job progress, production schedules, and resource utilization. Facilitate communication and coordination across teams.

· Root Cause Analysis: Investigate any operational issues or deviations from plan, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

5. Continuous Improvement:

· Process Optimization: Continuously review production processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and waste elimination.

· Lean Manufacturing Practices: Implement lean principles such as 5S, Kaizen events, and visual management to streamline workflows and enhance operational effectiveness.

· Feedback Mechanism: Solicit feedback from production team members on process improvements and operational challenges. Encourage innovation and proactive problem-solving.

6. Daily Reporting:

· Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production reports highlighting key metrics such as output volumes, efficiency rates, downtime analysis, and adherence to production schedules.

· Detailed Performance Metrics: Prepare a structured daily report in tabular format detailing production outputs, material consumption, labour utilization, and any issues encountered during operations.

· Data Analysis: Analyze daily production data to identify trends, performance gaps, and areas for improvement. Present findings and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.

· Actionable Insights: Provide actionable insights from daily reports to optimize resource allocation, improve production efficiency, and mitigate risks.

7. Performance Measures:

· Production Targets: Meet or exceed production targets as per agreed schedules and customer requirements.

· Inventory Accuracy: Maintain high accuracy in inventory records and minimize discrepancies through regular audits.

· Operational Efficiency:



Improve resource utilization and reduce cycle times through effective planning and continuous process improvements.

· Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines in all production activities.

10. Points to Consider on Production Floor:

· Housekeeping and Safety: Ensure cleanliness and organization on the production floor to maintain a protected and efficient working environment.

· Equipment Maintenance: Monitor equipment performance and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.

· Workplace Discipline: Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality standards among production staff.

· Communication: Foster open communication channels among team members and departments to facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes.

· Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular checks to ensure accurate labelling, storage, and retrieval of materials to support seamless production operations.

· Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement contingency plans for unforeseen events or disruptions to production schedules.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month

Experience

- Production management fabrication or sheet metal: 3 years (Preferred)
