Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Production Engineer who can manage production planning, ensure product quality, interpret technical drawings, and oversee day-to-day factory operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, quality control, and production coordination while ensuring timely delivery and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and monitor daily production schedules to achieve delivery targets.
- Coordinate with production, design, procurement, and warehouse teams.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Monitor production output and resolve shop-floor bottlenecks.

2. Engineering Drawings

- Read and interpret 2D/3D production drawings accurately.
- Verify drawings before releasing them for production.
- Coordinate with the design/CAD team for drawing corrections and revisions.
- Ensure manufacturing follows approved drawings and specifications.

3. Quality Control

- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections.
- Ensure all furniture components meet dimensional and finish quality standards.
- Identify defects, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain quality checklists and inspection reports.
- Minimize rejection, rework, and material wastage.

4. Factory Operations Management

- Supervise day-to-day factory activities.
- Ensure smooth workflow across cutting, edge banding, CNC, drilling, assembly, polishing, and packing.
- Maintain production records, machine utilization reports, and daily MIS.




- Coordinate preventive maintenance of machinery.
- Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping (5S), and operational standards.

5. Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Standardize production processes and work instructions.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of production drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of furniture manufacturing and modular furniture production.
- Experience with CNC machines (preferably Homag), edge banders, panel saws, drilling machines, and related equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of quality assurance and inspection techniques.
- Strong factory management and manpower handling skills.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production reporting.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is an added advantage.

Qualifications

- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Furniture Engineering.

Experience

- 3–8 years of experience in furniture manufacturing or modular furniture production.
- Experience in production planning, quality assurance, drawing interpretation, and factory operations is mandatory.
