Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Pharmacy Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy. The candidate will be responsible for managing pharmacy staff, procurement, inventory, dispensing, stock control, regulatory compliance, billing, and coordination with doctors and other hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy.
- Supervise, guide, and allocate duties to pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medicines as per valid prescriptions.
- Monitor pharmacy inventory, stock levels, expiry dates, and near-expiry medicines.
- Plan and coordinate procurement of medicines, surgical items, consumables, and other pharmacy products.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for purchase orders, deliveries, pricing, and replacements.
- Maintain proper records of purchases, sales, stock transfers, returns, and adjustments.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines according to required temperature and storage conditions.
- Monitor Narcotic, Schedule H/H1 and other regulated medicines as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile differences with system records.
- Monitor pharmacy billing, cash/credit transactions, discounts, returns, and refunds.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, purchase, stores, accounts, and administration departments.
- Monitor high-value medicines and prevent stock shortages and unnecessary inventory accumulation.
- Ensure proper handling of expired, damaged, recalled, and non-moving medicines.
- Maintain documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to pharmacy sales, stock, purchases, and consumption.
- Analyze pharmacy performance, consumption patterns, and inventory movement.
- Handle patient/customer queries and resolve pharmacy-related complaints professionally.
- Ensure adequate staffing and pharmacy coverage during all shifts.
- Train pharmacy staff regarding dispensing procedures, inventory management, patient safety, and hospital policies.
- Support hospital accreditation and quality initiatives such as NABH requirements, where applicable.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and inventory management.
- Good understanding of prescription handling and medicine dispensing.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement and vendor management.
- Knowledge of pharmacy billing and hospital information systems.
- Good knowledge of drug storage, expiry management, and controlled medicines.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and pharmacy/HIS software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities.
Educational Qualification
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm preferred.
- Valid State Pharmacy Council registration as applicable.
- Hospital pharmacy experience will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
