– Passive Network Engineer

Location: Mumbai

We are looking for an experienced Passive Network Engineer to join our team in Mumbai. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in structured cabling, fibre optic networks, and passive network infrastructure, preferably with exposure to data centres, commercial buildings, and large-scale ICT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Installation and implementation of structured cabling systems, including Copper and Fibre Optic cabling.
- Cable pulling, dressing, routing, and proper cable management as per approved layouts and industry standards.
- Termination of Cat 6, Cat 6A, and other copper cabling systems on patch panels, information outlets, and related components.
- Fibre optic cable termination, jointing, and fusion splicing.
- Installation and termination of LIUs, fibre patch panels, ODFs, racks, and related passive components.
- Testing and certification of copper and fibre networks using appropriate testing equipment.
- Perform fibre testing using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Light Source, and other fibre testing instruments.
- Perform copper cable certification using Fluke or equivalent cable certification equipment.
- Troubleshooting and rectification of fibre and copper connectivity issues.
- Installation and management of patch cords, fibre jumpers, and rack-level connectivity.
- Coordination with project managers, vendors, OEMs, contractors, and customer teams during project execution.
- Supervision of technicians and installation teams at project sites.
- Ensure installations are carried out as per approved drawings, BOQ, method statements, and OEM standards.
- Preparation and maintenance of testing reports,



cable schedules, labelling records, redline drawings, and project documentation.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, site procedures, and quality requirements.
- Support site surveys, material planning, measurements, and project handover activities.

Required Skills:

- Robust knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems.
- Hands-on experience in Cable Pulling, Cable Dressing, and Cable Management.
- Copper Cable Termination.
- Fibre Optic Cable Termination.
- Fusion Splicing.
- Fibre and Copper Testing & Certification.
- OTDR Testing.
- Fluke Testing / Certification.
- Installation of LIUs, Patch Panels, ODFs, and Racks.
- Rack Dressing and Patch Cord Management.
- Understanding of Single Mode and Multimode Fibre.
- Understanding of Cat 6 / Cat 6A cabling systems.
- Ability to read network layouts, cable schedules, drawings, and BOQs.
- Good troubleshooting and site coordination skills.
- Ability to manage technicians and installation teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in passive networking / structured cabling projects.
- Experience working on Data Centre and Enterprise ICT projects will be preferred.
- CommScope Certification preferred.
- Certifications from other recognised structured cabling OEMs will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with industry standards and structured cabling best practices.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate should be technically strong, hands-on, and capable of independently managing passive networking activities at site. The individual should have good coordination skills and be comfortable working in demanding project environments while maintaining high standards of installation quality, testing, and documentation.
