Position: Paediatric Occupational Therapist

About the Centre

We are establishing a specialised Child Learning & Development Centre focused on supporting children who experience difficulties related to learning, attention, development, communication, motor skills, behaviour and classroom functioning.

The centre will work with children with needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, developmental delays, autism, fine-motor difficulties, handwriting difficulties, sensory-motor challenges and other learning/developmental concerns.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with children and wants to be part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct occupational therapy assessments for children based on their individual needs.
- Identify difficulties related to fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, visual-motor integration, handwriting, sensory-motor skills and activities of daily living.
- Develop individualised occupational therapy goals and intervention plans.
- Provide one-to-one occupational therapy sessions for children.
- Work with children experiencing developmental delays, ADHD, autism, learning difficulties and other developmental challenges.
- Provide strategies and activities that can support children's functioning at home and in school.
- Guide parents regarding activities and exercises that can be continued at home.
- Coordinate with the Special Educator, Learning Support Teachers, Psychologist, Speech Therapist and other professionals involved with the child.
- Provide recommendations to teachers regarding classroom accommodations and strategies where appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate assessment records, therapy notes and progress reports.
- Monitor children's progress and modify intervention plans when required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and periodic progress reviews.





Desired Areas of Experience Experience working with children having one or more of the following will be preferred:
- ADHD / attention difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Developmental delay
- Dyslexia and other learning difficulties
- Fine-motor difficulties
- Handwriting difficulties
- Sensory-motor difficulties
- Poor hand-eye coordination
- Gross-motor coordination difficulties
- Delayed activities of daily living
- School-readiness difficulties
- Developmental disorders

Qualification

Essential:

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Valid professional registration/licence with the applicable qualified authority, wherever required.
- Experience working with paediatric clients.

Preferred:

- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, particularly Paediatrics, Developmental Disorders or a related area.
- Additional training in sensory integration, paediatric rehabilitation, developmental disorders or related areas.
- Previous experience working in a school, child-development centre, special-education centre or multidisciplinary paediatric setting.

Engagement This is initially intended as a visiting/consultant position, making it suitable for an experienced Occupational Therapist who may already have a private practice, clinic or other professional commitments.

The frequency of visits will depend on the number of children requiring occupational therapy services.

Candidates from Pathankot and nearby areas are preferred. Experienced candidates from other locations may also be considered for a hybrid/consulting arrangement where practical.

Pay: ₹5,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
