Role Description The Overseas College Admissions Counselor is a full-time, hybrid role based in Surat where you will be required to come into the office 3-4x/week. The counselor will guide students through the entire overseas admissions process, including college selection, application strategy, essay and personal statement advising, and interview preparation. Daily responsibilities include meeting with students and families, conducting counseling sessions, reviewing academic profiles, and providing feedback on application materials.

The role involves maintaining detailed student records, coordinating timelines and deadlines, and staying updated on admission trends in the U.S., UK,



Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The counselor will also support outreach activities, workshops, and presentations to build awareness of NorthStar Education’s services.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Communication and general Communication skills to effectively counsel students and collaborate with families and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide responsive, empathetic, and professional support throughout the admissions journey.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to explain service offerings clearly, conduct consultations, and help convert inquiries into enrollments.
- Candidates should possess Education-related skills, including an understanding of international higher education systems and the ability to explain academic pathways to students.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; willingness to learn is more important!
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple student cases and deadlines.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Prior experience in college counseling, mentoring, or academic advising is beneficial but not mandatory.
