The O.T. In-Charge is responsible for the overall management, coordination, safety, and smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- O.T. Management
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the Operation Theatre.
- Prepare and coordinate the daily operation schedule.
- Ensure O.T. readiness before every surgery.
- Staff Management
- Prepare duty rosters for O.T. nurses, technicians, and support staff.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities.
- Monitor staff discipline, attendance, and performance.
- Provide training and guidance to O.T. staff.
- Patient Safety
- Ensure correct patient identification and surgical safety procedures.
- Confirm proper consent and pre-operative preparation.
- Ensure implementation of the Surgical Safety Checklist.
- Maintain patient safety before, during, and after surgery.
- Infection Control
- Ensure proper sterilization and disinfection procedures.
- Monitor O.T. cleanliness and aseptic techniques.
- Ensure biomedical waste management as per hospital policy.
- Coordinate with the infection control team.
- Equipment & Instrument Management
- Ensure availability and proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment.




- Report equipment malfunction and coordinate repairs.
- Maintain adequate stock of consumables and medicines.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing departments, CSSD, ICU, wards, and administration.
- Ensure timely transfer and preparation of patients.
- Documentation
- Maintain O.T. registers and records.
- Monitor surgical documentation and checklists.
- Maintain records of implants, consumables, and instruments.
- Emergency Management
- Ensure emergency O.T. readiness at all times.
- Coordinate emergency surgeries efficiently.
- Handle unexpected situations and ensure immediate action.
- Quality & Performance
- Monitor O.T. utilization and efficiency.
- Identify delays and operational problems.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and audits.
- Implement hospital policies, SOPs, and quality standards.

In Short The O.T. In-Charge is responsible for ensuring that the Operation Theatre runs safely, efficiently, hygienically, and smoothly while coordinating staff, equipment, patients, surgeons, and hospital departments. Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
