Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle to Exadata Migration Architect to lead enterprise-scale Oracle database migration and modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Exadata architecture, migration planning, performance tuning, and high availability solutions. The role involves designing migration strategies, executing database migrations with minimal downtime, and providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Oracle Database migrations from on-premises Oracle environments to Oracle Exadata.
- Assess existing database environments and define migration strategies, timelines, and implementation plans.
- Design and implement Oracle Exadata solutions for high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Perform database upgrades, migration, consolidation, and platform modernization.
- Plan and execute migration using Oracle tools such as RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, Transportable Tablespaces, and Oracle Data Guard.
- Optimize SQL queries, database configurations, and Exadata features to improve performance.
- Configure and manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Exadata Storage Servers.
- Perform capacity planning, health checks, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
- Develop rollback strategies and ensure business continuity during migrations.
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
- Lead technical discussions, provide architecture recommendations, and mentor junior DBAs.
- Prepare migration documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Provide post-migration validation,



production support, and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills
- 10+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle to Oracle Exadata migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c/21c.
- Expertise in:
- Oracle Exadata Database Machine
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle ASM
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle RMAN
- Oracle GoldenGate
- Oracle Data Pump
- Transportable Tablespaces

- Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience with Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring.
- Familiarity with automation/scripting using Shell, Python, or Ansible.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Exadata.
- Knowledge of Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM).
- Experience with Oracle Autonomous Database.
- Understanding of cloud migration and hybrid database architectures.
- Exposure to DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
- Oracle Database or Exadata certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities as an Architect
- Own the migration architecture and technical solution.
- Lead customer workshops and migration assessments.
- Estimate project effort, identify risks, and recommend mitigation plans.
- Review solution design, implementation, and production readiness.
- Drive best practices for database security, availability, and performance.
- Support pre-sales activities, solution proposals, and technical presentations when required.
