Detailed JD (Roles and Responsibilities)

Orace DBA + Golden Gate

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Management & Optimization

- Administer and optimize Oracle databases (including schemas: AGP, SQD, Matrix, AR Admin, BMP Ticketing, WMS) in Azure cloud environments.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues (slow processing, space limitations, etc.), and implement solutions.
- Maintain and tune indexes, triggers, and business logic for optimal query and transaction performance.
- Manage data retention and purging policies, ensuring compliance and consistency across schemas.

2. Golden Gate Replication

- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Golden Gate for unidirectional and bidirectional data replication.
- Manage replication processes (extract, pump, replicate), address lag issues, and perform upgrades and patching.
- Implement supplemental logging and support performance tuning (e.g., parallelism, splitting processes).
- Coordinate with interfacing application teams for minimal service disruption during patching and DR activities.
- Monitor replication via scripts, automate alerts, and maintain file retention policies.

3. Data Migration & Testing





- Perform data migrations using Oracle Data Pump (EXPDP), SQL Loader, and other tools for UAT and production environments.
- Ensure CAB approvals and compliance with internal processes for all data transfers.
- Support testing, debugging, and validation of schema changes and replication compatibility.

4. Disaster Recovery & High Availability

- Plan and execute DR exercises, including DR switchovers, ET rollovers, and coordination with downstream teams.
- Document high-level DR steps, workflows, and points of contact.
- Maintain backup and retention policies for database environments.
