Education

- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM / ANM from a recognized institution.

- Valid Nursing Council registration.

Experience

- Preferably 2–5 years of experience in an Ophthalmic OT.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the Eye OT, instruments, equipment and required consumables before surgery.

- Perform surgical hand scrub, gowning and gloving as per protocol.

- Assist the surgeon by providing appropriate instruments, sutures and supplies during procedures.

- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques throughout the surgery.

- Perform and document instrument, needle, sponge and swab counts.

- Ensure proper handling, segregation and transfer of used instruments to CSSD.

- Assist in specimen collection, identification and protected transfer when required.





- Monitor availability and sterility of ophthalmic instruments and consumables.

- Assist in maintaining OT records, checklists and surgical safety documentation.

- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management and patient safety protocols.

- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and readiness of the Eye OT.

- Report equipment malfunction, stock shortages or any safety concerns to the OT In-Charge.

- Participate in emergency procedures and other duties assigned by the supervisor.
