Job Purpose The Operations & Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of the 3.6 MLD textile effluent treatment plant, including biological treatment, RO plant, and ZLD system. The role ensures continuous water recovery, secure effluent treatment performance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and statutory compliance. The position also leads the O&M; team to achieve production continuity, quality assurance, cost control, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operation of the textile ETP, RO, and ZLD systems to ensure consistent treatment performance and water recovery.

Monitor process parameters such as pH, COD, BOD, TDS, TSS, conductivity, flow, pressure, and chemical consumption.

Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.

Manage RO membrane performance, CIP schedules, scaling control, and reject handling.

Supervise sludge handling, chemical dosing, filter backwashing, and salt management in the ZLD system.

Ensure compliance with pollution control board norms, internal standards, and audit requirements.

Review lab analysis reports and adjust process conditions based on plant performance.

Control operating costs through optimization of chemicals, power, manpower, consumables, and spares.

Lead, train, and monitor shift engineers, technicians, operators, and contract manpower.

Coordinate with maintenance, production, utility,



and vendor teams for smooth plant operation.

Maintain operation logs, maintenance records, consumption reports, and compliance documentation.

Support system improvements, plant modifications, and commissioning activities as required.

Enforce safety procedures, permit systems, housekeeping, and environmental best practices.

Required Qualifications

Degree or diploma in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.

Strong experience in textile ETP, RO, and ZLD operations.

Good understanding of wastewater treatment chemistry, membrane systems, and utility equipment.

Ability to interpret laboratory data and process trends.

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting pumps, blowers, filters, dosing systems, RO skids, and allied equipment.

Working knowledge of maintenance planning, spare parts control, and vendor coordination.

Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

815 years of relevant experience in textile wastewater treatment operations.

Experience in large-capacity plants, preferably 3 MLD and above.

Familiarity with ATFD, MEE, sludge dewatering, and advanced ZLD systems.

Exposure to compliance audits, statutory reporting, and process optimization projects.

RO recovery and membrane performance.

Chemical, power, and consumable consumption per KL treated.

Breakdown frequency and maintenance response time.

Sludge disposal and ZLD performance.

Working Conditions

Full-time plant-based role with shift oversight and emergency support as needed.

Requires regular movement across treatment units, pump rooms, chemical storage areas, and utility sections.

Exposure to chemicals, noise, wet surfaces, heat, and industrial operating conditions.
