This is not intended to be a reporting-only role. The individual should be able to move from:
Data → Insight → Root Cause → Recommendation → Project → Business Impact The person will be responsible for driving projects from insight identification through stakeholder alignment, execution tracking, and measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Insights & Analytics
- Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, inefficiencies, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and MIS reports covering key business and operational KPIs.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis across sales, conversion, fulfillment, logistics, inventory, customer experience, cancellations, returns, NDR, serviceability, and operating costs.
- Go beyond reporting what happened and determine why it happened and what should be done next.
- Identify root causes behind KPI deterioration and recommend corrective actions.
- Segment performance across products, customers, channels, warehouses, courier partners, geographies, and processes.
- Quantify the revenue, cost, customer, or operational impact of identified business problems.
- Develop business cases for improvement opportunities.
2. Convert Insights into Projects
- Translate identified business problems into structured improvement projects.
- Define the problem statement, baseline, business impact, objective, target KPI, scope, stakeholders, milestones, dependencies, and timelines.
- Recommend solutions based on data, customer impact, operational feasibility, and business priorities.
- Track post-implementation results and validate whether expected business outcomes have been achieved.
- Continuously identify projects that can improve revenue, customer experience, cost, productivity, turnaround time, or scalability.
3. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison across Operations, Product, Technology, Logistics, Warehouse, Inventory, Customer Support, Finance, Marketing, and other teams.
- Bring the right stakeholders together to solve cross-functional business problems.
- Conduct or participate in cross-functional project and business reviews.
- Ensure stakeholders have consistent visibility into progress, risks, decisions, and dependencies.

- Maintain centralized visibility of strategic projects, expected impact, actual impact, risks, and current status.
Major Business Themes The analyst will work across broad business themes rather than being restricted to one operational function.
- Identify customer friction across ordering, fulfillment, delivery, returns, refunds, and customer support.
- Analyze warehouse, logistics, inventory, serviceability, and last-mile performance.
- Improve fulfillment reliability, order-to-delivery TAT, delivery success, and SLA adherence.
- Identify structural performance gaps across courier partners, warehouses, hubs, and fulfillment processes.
- Identify cost leakage across logistics, warehousing, inventory, customer support, and operational processes.
- Analyze inventory availability, stock-outs, ageing, excess inventory, and inventory movement. Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns, allocation, and availability.
Why You Should Apply
- High-Impact, End-to-End Ownership: You won't just build dashboards; you are expected to take projects from data analysis all the way to execution, stakeholder alignment, and measuring financial impact.
- Cross-Functional Exposure: You will work directly with various core departments—including Product, Tech, Logistics, Customer Support, and Marketing—giving you broad operational visibility.
- Transparent Performance Metrics: The role evaluates success on tangible business outcomes, such as cost savings, revenue growth, and process improvements, rather than vanity metrics.
- Problem-Solver Culture: Perfect fit if you thrive on ambiguity, naturally ask "why" when numbers shift, and prefer a bias for action over long waiting periods.
Why You Should Not Apply
- Not a Pure Data/Reporting Role: If you prefer strictly writing SQL queries, building Power BI/Tableau reports, and handing off the work without managing people or execution, you will not enjoy this role.
- High Stakeholder Management Friction: The role requires pushing back, challenging assumptions, and constantly following up across multiple teams to enforce accountability without formal authority.
- Ambiguous Problem Statements: If you require structured, pre-defined tasks and clear instructions from a manager before starting work,
this role will feel overwhelming.
- Heavy Focus on D2C/Supply Chain: If you lack interest or background in D2C, e-commerce, fulfillment, logistics, inventory management, or customer journey funnels, the day-to-day focus may not align with your career goals.
- High-Accountability Environment: Performance is tied directly to real business outcomes (RTO reductions, SLA adherence, cost leakage), meaning simple task completion isn't enough to succeed.
Preferred Experience
3–5 years of total relevant experience. Ideally, the candidate should have demonstrated experience in at least 3–4 of the following:
- Business or operations analytics
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets
- SQL-based analysis
- Power BI / Tableau / Looker or similar BI tools
- Business dashboard creation
- Root-cause analysis
- Cross-functional project management
- Process improvement
- Ecommerce operations
- Customer funnel analysis
- Supply chain / logistics / inventory analytics
- Business case development
- Product or technology requirement gathering
- Senior stakeholder communication
Previous experience owning a project from identifying the problem through implementation and impact measurement should be strongly preferred.
