We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation) to provide technical and operational support for FPSO operations from the Mumbai base office.
The role involves monitoring and supporting offshore electrical and instrumentation systems, coordinating troubleshooting and maintenance activities, and ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimum performance of E&I; systems associated with FPSO operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational and technical support for FPSO electrical and instrumentation systems from the onshore support office.
- Monitor operational performance, alarms, shutdowns, and equipment health of offshore E&I; systems.
- Coordinate with offshore teams for troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and corrective actions.
- Analyze equipment performance trends and recommend reliability improvements.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and service providers for technical support and spare parts.
- Participate in shutdown planning, commissioning, and start-up activities when required.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, company procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
- Support critical FPSO systems, including:
- Power Generation & Distribution Systems
- PLC / DCS / SCADA Systems
- Instrumentation & Control Systems
- Fire & Gas (F&G;) Systems
- Emergency Shutdown (ESD) Systems
- Analyzers and Field Instruments
- Assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident investigations related to E&I; systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational logs, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Production, Mechanical, Marine, and Process departments.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
- Bachelors Degree / Diploma in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
- Instrumentation & Control Engineering
Experience
- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in:
- Oil & Gas
- Offshore
- FPSO
- Refinery
- Petrochemical
- Process Industry
- Experience supporting offshore production operations or brownfield projects is preferred.
- Exposure to FPSO operations will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Valuable understanding of offshore electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with PLC/DCS/SCADA systems, including Yokogawa, Honeywell, Siemens, ABB, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems.
- Understanding of field instrumentation, calibration, and control systems.
- Knowledge of ESD and Fire & Gas systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS/SAP maintenance systems.
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training) – Preferred
