- Network Software Engineer in Test

- 7+ years of experience

- Location is Bangalore, India.

- This role is responsible for developing and executing automated tests for network systems, ensuring high quality and reliability across customer's network solutions
- The ideal candidate combines a solid network engineering background on enterprise networks with software development skills, particularly in automation, quality assurance, and testing automation

- Product Quality mind set

- Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Cisco routing and switching products and solutions, focusing on campus and enterprise networks, Meraki, and data center technologies.

- Intermediate level proficiency using programming languages and / or automation frameworks for interacting with network devices and controllers. (Python, Ansible, etc.)

- Intermediate level of proficiency in Python, and the ability to interpret and write Python code. Interaction with 3rd party APIs and resources through REST.

- Intermediate knowledge of automation frameworks, such as Ansible and Terraform.

- Experience with E2E test automation frameworks and tools, such as Playwright, Selenium, PyTest,

- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience in building and scaling test automation frameworks for complex network environments.

- Having familiarity with Cisco internal infrastructure is huge plus

- Hands-on experience with network simulation tools and methodologies.

- User-centric mindset and understanding of Cisco products - to be able to understand and create user-centric test cases (that is, not a simple tester that runs test cases)





- Must have Python skills to automate repetitive tasks

- Cisco background is a big plus

- Familiarity with Cisco's ecosystem with Jira, authentication approaches etc.

- Familiarity with integration of Cisco's Data Center Products and Enterprise Networking Products with Cisco Enterprise DNAC and Meraki

- Key responsibilities include:

- - Automated Test Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites to validate network functionality, performance, and resilience, including Cisco DNAC and Meraki systems.

- Network Test Frameworks: Build and enhance network test frameworks to automate testing processes, reducing manual intervention and improving repeatability.

- Proven expertise in QA for networking systems, with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.

- Quality Assurance and Testing: Develop test plans, cases, and scenarios to ensure rigorous testing of network configurations and deployments. Implement QA methodologies and best practices to meet quality standards.

- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Analyze test failures, isolate issues, and work with network engineering teams to resolve them effectively, ensuring a robust testing lifecycle.

- Collaboration with Development and Operations: Collaborate with network engineering, software development, and operations teams to align test automation with project objectives and ensure smooth deployment cycles.

- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test plans, results, and any issues uncovered during testing. Report findings and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.

- Qualifications:

- - Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

- Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or software testing certifications preferred; familiarity with Cisco DNAC and Meraki is a plus.
