Role & responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance and availability issues across enterprise and cloud environments.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
- Support the design and implementation of new network solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Perform root cause analysis of network incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to incident response and participate in on-call rotations for escalations.
- Document configurations, network diagrams, and incident resolutions to maintain operational knowledge.
- Collaborate with Security and Infrastructure teams to enforce policies and ensure compliance.
- Assist in capacity planning, monitoring enhancements, and network automation efforts. Provide mentorship and technical support to junior engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 59 years of experience in network engineering,
network operations, or related IT roles.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting network security practices and compliance requirements.
- Scripting/automation knowledge (Python, Ansible, or equivalent) preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent strongly preferred.
