Job Summary

We are hiring a Network Engineer with solid experience in BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) platforms and broadband access technologies to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize service provider broadband networks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Juniper MX960/MX304 and Huawei BNG platforms, along with GPON/FTTH access network troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot BNG platforms (Juniper MX960/MX304, Huawei) for subscriber management.

- Manage subscriber authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) via RADIUS/PPPoE/DHCP.

- Troubleshoot broadband service issues across OLT, ONT/ONU, and GPON access infrastructure.

- Perform end-to-end fault isolation from BNG to OLT to CPE for broadband/FTTH customer complaints.

- Handle provisioning, activation, and configuration of broadband/FTTH subscriber services.

- Monitor OLT/GPON network health, optical power levels, and PON port utilization.

- Coordinate with field engineering teams for fiber faults, splicing, and last-mile issues.

- Support VoIP/IPTV service delivery troubleshooting over GPON/FTTH where applicable.

- Perform capacity planning and utilization analysis for BNG and OLT platforms.

- Execute planned maintenance, firmware/software upgrades on BNG and OLT equipment.

- Maintain network documentation, IP addressing plans, and subscriber provisioning records.

- Ensure SLA compliance for broadband service availability and fault resolution.

Must-Have Skills & Keywords

- Hands-on experience with BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) configuration and troubleshooting.

- Strong knowledge of subscriber management protocols PPPoE, DHCP, RADIUS, AAA.

- Practical experience with GPON/FTTH access network architecture and troubleshooting.

- Understanding of OLT/ONU/ONT provisioning and optical power/link budget troubleshooting.





- Strong IP routing and switching fundamentals for service provider networks.

- Experience in a Service Provider / Telecom / ISP environment.

- Good understanding of QoS and bandwidth management for broadband services.

- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-impact-driven troubleshooting approach.

Technologies / Protocols (MPLS & Core Networking)

- BNG (Broadband Network Gateway) – Subscriber Management, Service Profiles

- PPPoE, DHCP, RADIUS/AAA, IPoE

- GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) architecture

- FTTH (Fiber to the Home) – OLT, ONT/ONU provisioning and troubleshooting

- Optical parameters – Rx/Tx power levels, PON budget, fiber loss troubleshooting

- IP Routing – BGP, OSPF, Static Routing basics

- VLAN, QinQ (802.1ad) for subscriber service separation

- QoS – Bandwidth profiling, traffic shaping for broadband services

- MPLS basics for backhaul connectivity (added advantage)

- IPv4/IPv6 addressing and subscriber IP management

OEM / Vendor Platform Experience

- Juniper – MX960, MX304 (BNG/Edge Routing Platforms), JUNOS

- Huawei – BNG Platforms (NE Series), OLT (MA5600T/MA5800 series), VRP OS

- Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) – 7750 SR BNG – Preferred

- Cisco – ASR Series (BNG/Edge) – Preferred

- GPON OLT/ONT equipment – Huawei / ZTE / Nokia (any of these)

Certifications (Required / Preferred)

- CCNA (Routing & Switching) – Required

- CCNP (Service Provider / R&S;) – Preferred

- JNCIA / JNCIS (Juniper Service Provider) – Preferred

- HCIA / HCIP (Huawei Datacom / Access) – Preferred

- Service Provider Certification – Nokia NRS I / equivalent – Preferred

Good to Have

- Experience with IPTV/VoIP service troubleshooting over broadband.

- Exposure to fiber network planning and last-mile fault management tools.

- Knowledge of network automation/scripting for provisioning tasks.
