Role Definition
As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to Caterpillars supply base in the execution of a robust quality plan within the suppler network. In addition, to implement a well-documented continuous quality improvement process and strict process controls. This will be used for the evaluation and development of recent and existing suppliers worldwide, to maximizing Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply network. To ensure that a supplier is able to meet corporate and business unit requirements for SER certification levels and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material. .
- Responsible for supplier development & components development in Hydraulics & Powertrain category
- Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities including evaluating PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) elements and providing processing support as appropriate
- Promote processes and technologies to reduce cost and improve quality and availability of purchased products




- Support on field issues through effective analysis and implement the corrective active actions
- Evaluate Supplier capabilities and help develop sourcing options for the global product requirements
- Participate in New Sourcing Introduction, New Product Introduction and other CPPD initiatives
- Develop professional network both internally and externally
