Post : Mould Design Engineer

Location : Vasai

Experience : 5 yrs in mould design, preferably in hardware fittings, automotive or consumer durable industry

Qualification : BE. Mechanical

Salary : 8 LPA

Role A skilled Mould Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize moulds for hardware fittings products. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for mould design, coordination with manufacturing and vendors, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective and efficient tooling solutions.

Job Profile

- Design and develop injection moulds / die moulds for hardware fittings such as hinges, handles, locks, fasteners, and related components
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for moulds, inserts, and assemblies
- Select appropriate mould concepts, materials, cooling systems, and ejection mechanisms
- Conduct mould flow analysis and feasibility studies to ensure defect-free production
- Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D; teams during tool trials, sampling, and mass production
- Coordinate with tool room and external mould manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and quality
- Troubleshoot mould-related issues such as flash, shrinkage, warpage, sink marks, and short shots




- Implement design improvements for cost reduction, cycle time optimization, and tool life enhancement
- Maintain proper documentation, BOMs, revision control, and engineering change records
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety norms, and quality requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of mould design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar)
- Understanding of injection moulding / die casting processes
- Familiarity with mould flow analysis tools (Moldflow or equivalent) is an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T;
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Experience

- Experience working with high-volume production tools is preferred
