Key Responsibilities

- Study production processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
- Understand machine requirements by working with production operators, maintenance teams and management.
- Convert ideas and production problems into practical mechanical designs.
- Create 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks .
- Design machine frames, brackets, shafts, fixtures, conveyors, feeding mechanisms, guards and moving systems.
- Prepare Bills of Materials containing the components required to build each machine.
- Select suitable bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, pulleys, chains, sprockets, couplings, linear guides and pneumatic components.
- Perform basic calculations for load, speed,

torque, shaft size and component selection.
- Check assemblies for interference, movement and ease of manufacturing.
- Coordinate with fabricators, machine shops, component suppliers and automation vendors.
- Support prototype fabrication, assembly, installation and testing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems during prototype trials.
- Improve designs based on testing, operator feedback, safety, reliability, maintenance and cost.
- Maintain proper drawings, design revisions, component specifications and test records.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, electrical and automation teams.

Qualifications

Candidates should have either

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field, with approximately 2–6 years of relevant experience

or
