RAW BOTS LLP is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our core engineering team. You'll be working across SPM design, industrial product development, and robotic systems — from concept to manufacturable hardware. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own designs end-to-end, not just push CAD.

Responsibilities

- Design Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) for automation applications across Pharma, Packaging, Food, Textile and other industries

- Develop industrial product designs from concept through detailed engineering

- Design mechanical systems for robotic platforms like AMRs, Legged Robots, AGVs/UGVs, Robotic Arms, and related mechatronic systems

- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs translate cleanly into production — tolerancing, fits, material selection, and process compatibility





- Collaborate with the electronics and firmware team to ensure mechanical designs integrate with sensors, actuators and control systems

- Iterate designs based on prototype testing, simulation results and field feedback

Requirements

- Strong grasp of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles

- Proficiency in GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

- Advanced SolidWorks skills

- Experience with Ansys or equivalent for mechanical/structural simulation

- Ability to run and interpret mechanical simulations (stress, thermal, motion) to validate designs before manufacturing

- Prior experience in industrial automation, robotics, or machine building is a solid plus
