Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer role at EQUICHEM is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The role involves designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for laboratory, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor equipment, from concept through detailed engineering. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and updating 3D models and engineering drawings, selecting materials and components, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The engineer collaborates with production, quality,



and automation teams to resolve design issues, support prototyping and testing, and optimize designs for manufacturability and cost. Additional tasks include preparing technical documentation, participating in design reviews, and continuously improving existing product lines based on field feedback and new technology.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust skills in Design Engineering and Product Design for industrial and laboratory equipment.
- Candidates should possess solid expertise in Mechanical Engineering and Machine Design, including strength of materials and thermal systems.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and detailed drafting.
- Relevant experience in designing sheet metal, fabricated structures, and precision assemblies for manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and good engineering practices in pharmaceutical and electronics sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, perform basic calculations, and work closely with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Prior experience with laboratory, process, or semiconductor equipment design and exposure to automation or control systems is an advantage.
