Curious about how AI could change logistics and supply chain? Work directly with NUMA’s founders to investigate customer problems and help shape what we build.
The problem we’re solving
Logistics teams spend hours investigating disputed freight charges, gathering documents, and chasing resolutions across disconnected systems. NUMA is building an AI-native service to help manage this work through AI-assisted execution, human judgment, and customer-approved actions.
Why it matters
Unresolved disputes delay payments and consume staff time. Your research will help us understand where the pain is greatest, who owns the problem, and whether companies will pay for a better solution.
The outcomes you’ll own
- Identify relevant companies and finance or operations decision-makers.
- Help organize and conduct customer interviews.
- Research competitors, existing alternatives, and buying behavior.
- Deliver a concise research brief recommending which customer problems NUMA should prioritize.
How we’ll know it worked Your findings are accurate, sources are traceable, interviews reveal specific customer problems, and recommendations support clear business decisions. We’ll agree on measurable targets at the start.
We value evidence that challenges our assumptions as much as evidence that supports them.
Who should apply
Students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals with robust research skills, curiosity, and an interest in AI and logistics.
Current PhD researchers and those preparing to begin a PhD are also welcome to apply,
provided their field is an AI-related technical discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or Physics.
You should be comfortable turning complex information into practical business insights. Prior logistics experience is helpful but not essential.
