Key Performance Area:

- Own and govern the NPD roadmap for rubber, thermoformed plastic components, and metal tubing, where applicable, aligned with Polyhose business priorities and customer programs.
- Review and approve NPD project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets across multiple projects.
- Track portfolio-level plan vs. actual performance, identify systemic risks, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for customers on NPD programs related to hose assemblies, thermoformed tube components, and metal tubing, where applicable.
- Lead high-level feasibility reviews covering material strategy, tooling concepts, cycle time, yield, and cost viability.
- Approve technical concepts, design approaches, and validation strategies for customer applications.
- Review and approve critical design deliverables, including 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOM structures.
- Provide strategic direction to internal tool rooms and external tooling vendors for tool and fixture design, trials, and modifications.
- Ensure tooling readiness, capacity planning,



and successful trials to support production ramp-up.
- Oversee pilot production, industrial trials, and handover from NPD to serial production.
- Review and approve PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and capability studies in coordination with Quality and Production teams.
- Own cost targets for recent formed tubes, metal tubes, tooling, and fixture investments.
- Drive VA/VE initiatives focused on material optimization, cycle-time reduction, yield improvement, and cost competitiveness.
- Promote standardization and reuse of proven designs, tooling concepts, and process best practices across Polyhose plants.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the NPD team across multiple levels.
- Define skill requirements, support succession planning, and build technical depth in part design, tooling, fixture concepts, and problem-solving.
