ABOUT THIS PROSPECT The Data Engineer will collaborate with the Data Operations, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business SMEs to design, develop, integrate and test Data Product features on the product roadmaps to meet customer needs.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

- Manages the development and/or operation of significant aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Highlights shortcomings and suggests improvements in current IT Security processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or discipline.
- Defines, delivers, and adapts specialized products/services to meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
- Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established programme management plan.
- Identifies and evaluates complex expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
- Develops and/or delivers a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.
- Manages the development and/or operation of knowledge management system with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Coordinates across multiple teams to develop medium-term and/or long-term work schedules that help the organisation achieve its priorities and fulfil its business plans.
- Analyses key themes using data from a wide range of sources and identifies possible impacts on the business.
- Takes responsibility for implementing a team's formal development framework with guidance from senior colleagues, while informally coaching others throughout the organisation in area of expertise and pursuing and investing in opportunities for own personal development.

- Strong experience in Data Engineering, including building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Proficient in Python and SQL, with handson expertise in writing complex queries, performance tuning, and automation.
- Skilled in Google BigQuery and modern cloud-based data warehousing technologies.
- Competent in Database Administration, including schema management, optimization, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of Data Modelling & Design, including dimensional modelling, relational schema design, and best practices.
- Understanding of Data Architecture concepts, including data flows, storage patterns, and system integration.
- Foundational experience in Software Engineering, including coding standards, version control, and structured development practices.




- Exposure to DevOps practices and tools to support CI/CD and environment management.
- Working knowledge of Technical Operations for ensuring data availability, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Basic understanding of Quality Engineering concepts for validating data accuracy and system reliability.

Data Governance, Security & Responsible AI

- Awareness of Data Privacy, Ethics & Security, ensuring compliance with data protection and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of Data Management & Governance, including metadata management, data quality, and stewardship.
- Good understanding on Responsible AI principles and AI Literacy, ensuring ethical and explainable use of AI/ML technologies.

Analytical & Business Skills

- Strong Data Storytelling capabilities to translate data insights into meaningful business narratives.
- High level of Data Literacy for interpreting, analyzing, and communicating data effectively.
- Strong Critical Thinking to evaluate data solutions, troubleshoot issues, and make informed decisions.
- Experience in Customer Centricity, with the ability to design solutions that meet business and customer needs.
- Working knowledge of Service Design concepts to help build user-focused solutions.

- Competent in Communication, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
