Job Purpose To manage product costing, RFQ activities, new product development, vendor development, manufacturing feasibility, cost analysis and commercial coordination for mechanical components, machine tools and engineering products.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle RFQ activities, technical feasibility studies and quotation preparation.
- Prepare detailed product and component costing based on manufacturing processes, material, machining, tooling, fabrication and bought-out components.
- Conduct cost analysis, cost reduction and cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare ZBC / ABC-based costing and compare projected vs. actual product costs.
- Develop and maintain cost roll-up and cost forecast for recent products.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, Quality and Engineering teams for accurate costing.
- Evaluate BOM, engineering changes and design modifications from a cost-impact perspective.
- Conduct technical discussions with customers regarding manufacturing feasibility, pricing and commercial requirements.
- Participate in pricing strategy, business negotiations and RFQ closure.
- Develop and qualify new vendors/suppliers for machining, forging, fabrication, sheet metal, casting and other mechanical components.
- Coordinate New Product Development (NPD) activities from feasibility through product launch.
- Manage tooling, jig, fixture and manufacturing process development.
- Coordinate APQP, PPAP, FMEA and other NPD documentation as applicable.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes including:

- CNC / VMC machining

- Forging
- Sheet Metal & Fabrication

- Casting

- Welding

- Laser cutting

- Structural components
- Plating, anodizing and shot blasting
- Jigs, fixtures and tooling
- Work closely with Purchase for material sourcing, vendor development and commercial evaluation.
- Analyze material consumption, process cycle time, machining cost, tooling cost and overheads for accurate costing.




- Monitor cost variations and identify reasons for increase/decrease in actual costs.
- Drive corrective and cost-optimization actions with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain project documentation, costing records, RFQ data and NPD-related documents.
- Ensure timely completion of development activities as per project timelines.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Component Costing & Cost Analysis.
- Experience in NPD / Vendor Development / RFQ Management.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of CNC, VMC, machining, fabrication, sheet metal, forging and casting.
- Knowledge of Jigs, Fixtures and Tool Development.
- Working knowledge of APQP & PPAP.
- Strong understanding of BOM and engineering change management.
- Excellent MS Excel / Advanced Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA / ERP.
- Good communication, negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with customers and multiple internal departments.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in Machine Tool / Heavy Engineering / Automotive / Engineering Manufacturing industries.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in costing + NPD + vendor development will be preferred.
- Should be capable of independently handling RFQs, costing, feasibility and development projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work closely with manufacturing and shop-floor teams.
