Roles & Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and VSAM.

- Develop and modify COBOL programs based on business and functional requirements.

- Develop and maintain CICS online transactions and application components.

- Create and modify JCL jobs for batch processing and application execution.

- Design, create, and maintain VSAM files and perform file processing operations.

- Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of mainframe applications.

- Analyze existing code and implement enhancements, fixes, and new functionalities.

- Troubleshoot program errors and resolve technical issues during development and testing.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.

- Prepare technical specifications, test cases, and technical documentation.

- Coordinate with business analysts, QA teams,



and other technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.

- Support application releases and ensure successful implementation of developed changes.

- Optimize application code and batch processes for improved performance and efficiency.

Must-Have Skills:

- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL development.

- Strong knowledge of CICS and online application development.

- Hands-on experience with JCL and batch processing.

- Strong understanding of VSAM and file processing.

- Valuable knowledge of z/OS, TSO, and ISPF.

- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting COBOL/CICS applications.

- Good understanding of mainframe application architecture and development lifecycle.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in writing and executing unit and integration test cases.

- Good understanding of SDLC and software development processes.
