: Mainframe COBOL Developer

Role: Mainframe Application Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe COBOL Developer with strong expertise in IBM Mainframe application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Enterprise COBOL, JCL, and DB2 application development and should be capable of designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe (z/OS).

- Develop, modify, and optimize JCL scripts for batch processing.

- Perform application development and maintenance using Mainframe DB2.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.

- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

- Support production environments, including incident analysis and defect resolution.

- Optimize application performance and improve system efficiency.

- Collaborate with business analysts,



QA teams, and technical teams for successful delivery.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

- 6–8 years of experience in Mainframe application development.

- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Enterprise COBOL (System Z)

- JCL (System Z)

- Mainframe DB2 Application Development

- Good understanding of IBM z/OS environments.

- Experience in batch processing and production support.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Positive communication skills.
