Key Responsibilities
Modern Workplace Engineering &
- Architecture
- - Plan, Design and maintain Microsoft 365 solutions including Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune, and Copilot. Implement functionalities through the existing Managed Service Provider staff.
- Act as a senior technical authority for Modern Workplace services, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Support business in integration projects like SSO implementations, enterprise app setup, graph.
- Coordinate and execute ad-hoc projects.
- Contribute to solution architecture decisions and technical roadmaps with a strong engineering mindset.
Automation, Scripting &
- Integration
- - Design and implement automation-first solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Develop and maintain automation using:
- Power Automate / Azure Logic Apps
- Azure Functions
- PowerShell and Graph scripting
- Integrate M365 services with Azure and third-party systems using APIs and event-driven architectures.
Azure Fundamentals &
- Cloud Engineering
- - Apply strong Azure fundamentals including:
- Azure AD / Entra ID
- Azure networking basics
- Identity, security, and access management
- Monitoring and logging concepts
- Support hybrid and cloud-native workplace architectures.
- Collaborate with Azure platform teams to ensure alignment with enterprise cloud standards.
Operations, Reliability &
- Governance
- - Ensure stable operations of Modern Workplace services through proactive monitoring, incident analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a technical guardian of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change, service fulfillment) for Contemporary Workplace solutions.
- Define and enforce technical governance, cost efficiency, security baselines, and configuration standards across M365.
- Support data governance, compliance,
and information protection initiatives.
Release &
- Change Enablement
- - Technically assess Microsoft 365 roadmap changes and prepare environments for new features.
- Validate changes from a technical, security, and operational perspective before release.
- Support adoption teams by ensuring solutions are technically ready and optimized for user rollout.
Vendor &
- Service Provider Oversight
- - Provide technical oversight of the Managed Service Provider (MSP) operating O365 services.
- Monitor, validate, and escalate SLA breaches within IT WEST and report to Global IT.
- Ensure service quality, operational consistency, and continuous service improvement.
Collaboration &
- Stakeholder Engagement
- - Work closely with architects, security teams, adoption teams, and business stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions, not product backlogs.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex Modern Workplace technical issues.
Qualifications
Required
- - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience as a Senior Engineer in Microsoft 365 environments.
- Proven experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Power Automate, Logic Apps, Azure Functions).
- Solid understanding of Azure fundamentals and cloud-native concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across identity, collaboration, security, and endpoint scenarios.
- Experience working in large, enterprise-scale environments.
Preferred
- - Microsoft certifications (M365, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, or similar).
- Experience with Intune, endpoint management, and device security.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust, Conditional Access, and information protection.
- Experience working with Agile teams (as an engineer, not a Product Owner).
- Knowledge of compliance, data governance, and security standards.
