Job Purpose The Logistics Executive will be responsible for managing and coordinating end-to-end logistics and dispatch operations to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of finished goods from the manufacturing plant and warehouse to distributors, customers, and other designated locations.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Coordinate daily dispatch and transportation activities from the manufacturing plant and warehouse.
- Arrange vehicles and coordinate with approved transporters for the timely movement of goods.
- Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery to distributors, customers, warehouses, and other locations.
- Monitor transportation schedules and resolve issues related to delays, shortages, damages, or delivery discrepancies.
- Maintain effective coordination with transporters and logistics service providers.
Dispatch & Documentation
- Coordinate with the Warehouse, Production, Sales, and Accounts teams for smooth order processing and dispatch planning.
- Ensure timely preparation and verification of dispatch-related documents, including invoices, e-way bills, delivery challans, LR copies, and other required documents.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatched materials and shipment details.
- Ensure proper closure and collection of Proof of Delivery (POD), where applicable.
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure the availability of finished goods for dispatch.
- Support stock movement and transfer between production, warehouses, and distribution locations.
- Monitor and report any discrepancies in dispatched quantities, shortages, or damages.
Cost Control & Vendor Management
- Monitor freight and transportation costs and support initiatives for logistics cost optimization.
- Maintain records of transporter rates, freight bills, and logistics expenses.
- Assist in evaluating transporter performance based on delivery timelines, cost, service quality, and reliability.
- Coordinate with transporters for freight bill verification and timely submission to the Accounts department.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly logistics and dispatch MIS reports.
- Maintain records related to transportation costs, dispatch status, pending deliveries, and shipment tracking.
- Provide regular updates to the reporting manager regarding logistics performance and operational issues.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and transportation regulations.
- Follow established SOPs for logistics, dispatch, and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of logistics, transportation, dispatch, and supply chain processes.
- Good understanding of e-way bills, LR, delivery challans, and logistics documentation.
- Knowledge of SAP systems will be an added advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities effectively.
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG workplace.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
