Role Overview

Ashwin Sheth Group is looking for an experienced and strategic Manager / Senior Manager – Litigation to manage and oversee the organization's litigation portfolio, with a strong focus on real estate and RERA-related matters. The role will be responsible for developing litigation strategies, managing in-house legal matters, coordinating with external counsel and Senior Counsels, and providing strategic legal advice to the leadership team.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Litigation Management

- Manage and oversee end-to-end litigation matters, including civil, criminal, regulatory and commercial disputes.
- Handle in-house litigation matters and represent the organization before various courts, tribunals and forums.
- Manage matters before RERA, NCLT, NCLAT, High Court, City Civil Court, Small Causes Court and other relevant courts/forums.
- Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to protect the organization's legal and commercial interests.
- Handle pre-litigation disputes, negotiations and settlements to minimize legal exposure and business risks.
- Monitor case progress, hearings, legal deadlines and ensure timely action on all matters.

1. RERA & Real Estate Litigation

- Handle end-to-end RERA matters, including drafting replies, written submissions, applications, appeals and other legal documents.
- Appear before RERA authorities and handle arguments and hearings independently or in coordination with external counsel.
- Provide legal guidance on real estate-related disputes, customer claims, regulatory matters and project-related litigation.
- Manage appeals and related proceedings before higher forums, wherever applicable.

1. Court Representation & Legal Strategy

- Represent the organization before courts, tribunals, arbitrations and other legal forums, as required.




- Draft and review pleadings, petitions, written statements, replies, affidavits, applications, appeals and legal notices.
- Brief and coordinate with Senior Counsels and external advocates on high-value and high-stakes litigation matters.
- Develop litigation strategies in consultation with management and external legal advisors.
- Ensure effective preparation of matters, documentation and case briefs before hearings.

1. Legal Advisory & Risk Management

- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and business teams on litigation risks and potential disputes.
- Assess legal exposure and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Ensure litigation strategies are aligned with the organization's business objectives.
- Identify potential legal risks and advise stakeholders on preventive measures.
- Prepare legal risk reports and litigation updates for the Board and Leadership Team.

1. Contractual & Commercial Disputes

- Review, analyze and manage disputes arising from contracts, agreements, vendor partnerships and commercial arrangements.
- Support resolution of contractual disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or litigation.
- Advise business teams on contractual risks and dispute-resolution mechanisms.

1. Compliance & Regulatory Matters

- Ensure adherence to applicable statutory, regulatory and legal requirements.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting the real estate business.
- Develop and recommend policies, processes and preventive measures to minimize litigation and legal risks.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.

1. Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain an updated database and tracker of all litigation and legal matters.




- Prepare regular litigation MIS, case status reports, risk reports and management updates.
- Track case outcomes, financial exposure, legal costs and important litigation milestones.
- Ensure proper maintenance of case files, pleadings, orders, judgments and other legal documentation.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Civil, Criminal, Corporate and Real Estate Laws.
- Solid expertise in RERA litigation and regulatory matters.
- Sound understanding of NCLT, NCLAT, High Court, City Civil and Small Causes Court proceedings.
- Excellent legal drafting, research, negotiation and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong litigation strategy and case-management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a legal team.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with Senior Counsels and external legal advisors.

Preferred Experience & Attributes
- 8+ years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in the real estate sector.
- Experience handling complex, high-value and high-stakes litigation matters.
- Experience with a combination of reputed law firms and real estate developer organizations will be preferred.
- Strong experience in handling RERA matters independently.
- Good understanding of industry-specific regulations and real estate legal frameworks.
- Established professional network with Senior Counsels, advocates and legal professionals will be an advantage.
- Strong commercial understanding with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
