Role & responsibilities

Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux operating systems including SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux.

- Perform OS upgrades, patch management, system hardening, and lifecycle management. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machine administration. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Support and manage Proxmox environments for VM and container workloads. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure infrastructure availability and reliability. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Implement security controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance standards across Linux platforms. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Perl and leverage tools such as Ansible and Salt for infrastructure automation. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Troubleshoot complex Linux, networking, hardware, storage, and virtualization issues in production environments. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, Networking, and Application teams for infrastructure support and deployment activities. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.





Preferred candidate profile

- 5+ years of experience in Linux Administration within enterprise or production environments. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Solid hands-on expertise in Linux distributions such as SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Experience managing VMware vSphere and Proxmox virtualization platforms. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Expertise in automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Salt. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Strong scripting skills in Bash; Python/Perl knowledge is an added advantage. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
- Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SSH, and firewall technologies. [Sr. Systems Engineer | Word]
