Bengaluru

: Liaison Officer – Legal & Government Affairs

Reports to: Legal Department Head

Location: Bangalore (with regular travel to government offices across the city/state)

Qualification: Graduate (any stream); prior experience in real estate/construction liaison work strongly preferred

Experience: 3–8 years in liaison/PRO roles, ideally with existing relationships in relevant government offices

Role Summary

Handles all government-office liaison and legal follow-up work for the company — physically visiting offices to move files forward, meeting officers to get approvals/clearances processed, and coordinating with lawyers, clients, and stakeholders. The bulk of the job is disciplined follow-up and careful handling of paperwork, so reliability and honesty matter more than polish.

Key Responsibilities

1. Government Liaison

- Visit government offices (BBMP, BDA, sub-registrar, revenue department, municipal offices, etc.) to track and push file movement
- Meet officers directly to follow up on pending approvals, NOCs, khata transfers, registrations, and other clearances
- Understand office procedures and requirements well enough to avoid unnecessary delays or rejections

2. Legal Follow-Up & Coordination

- Work under the legal department's direction — carry out follow-ups they assign on ongoing matters
- Meet lawyers to collect/deliver documents, get case status updates, and relay instructions accurately
- Meet clients and stakeholders when in-person coordination is needed for document collection, signatures, or updates

- Clarify doubts with the legal team promptly rather than guessing or delaying

3. Documentation & Filing

- Handle physical filing, submission, and collection of legal and government paperwork
- Maintain organized records of what's been submitted, what's pending, and where each file stands
- Ensure no document is lost, misplaced, or submitted incorrectly

4. Reporting

- Give regular, honest status updates on every file/task in progress — no covering up delays or problems
- Flag issues (stuck files, uncooperative officers, missing documents) to the legal department immediately

Required Skills & Attributes

- Honesty and integrity are non-negotiable — this person handles sensitive documents and interacts with officials on the company's behalf
- Strong follow-up discipline — doesn't let a file sit without checking on it
- Comfortable navigating government offices and dealing with officers respectfully but persistently
- Basic literacy in legal/government paperwork (reading forms, understanding what's missing)
- Well-organized with physical documents — nothing gets lost
- Good local language skills (Kannada) for dealing with government offices
- Own two-wheeler preferred, given the amount of travel between offices

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Perks

- Cell phone reimbursement
- Food provided
- Internet reimbursement
- Leave encashment
- Paid sick time

Language:
- Kannada (Required)

Willingness to travel:
- 75% (Required)

Work Location: In person
