We are seeking a Lead System Engineer with strong expertise in Linux automation, Kickstart, and OS lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will design and implement automation strategies for large-scale deployments, ensure compliance with security standards, and manage Red Hat environments efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate Linux installation and configuration using Kickstart and related tools.
- Manage full OS lifecycle for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9); RHEL 10 is a plus.
- Implement and maintain patch management processes across large infrastructures.
- Ensure system security and compliance with CIS Benchmark and OS hardening best practices.
- Administer and optimize Red Hat Satellite, Capsule, and Template Management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on Virtualization (VMware), Storage, and Network.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues in production environments.
- Follow internal processes (SOPs, ITIL, escalation, time tracking).
Profile
Experience and Qualifications
- 10+years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and automation.
- Expertise in Kickstart, scripting (Shell, Python, Perl), and configuration management.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite.
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience in Virtualization (VMware), Storage, and Network.
- Solid understanding of OS hardening and compliance frameworks (CIS Benchmark).
- Proven experience in patch management at scale.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Robust communication skills and ability to work independently.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with RHEL 10.
- Experience with clustering and large-scale automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
