WSP India is seeking an Associate Consultant to join our Cultural Heritage and Archaeology Team in Bengaluru, Noida or Mumbai.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the management and delivery (remote) of archaeology projects that are based in the UK and Ireland. The role is key to our heritage team’s development and will require the combination of high-level technical expertise and knowledge of archaeology and heritage with commercial and business acumen.

You will be expected to lead archaeological projects from planning and other consent applications and deliver bespoke archaeological strategies and works for developments and infrastructure. Preferably, you will have a specialism, skill or area of knowledge that contributes to the development of the team and our wider business.

Not only will you have a track record of successful project delivery, strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with a range of clients and peers, you will have the ability to work collaboratively and remotely across multidisciplinary teams, within and outside WSP.

Key Competencies / Skills

- Monitoring and assuring the work of one of our WSP-approved fieldwork subcontractors, both on-site and in the technical review of deliverables, including RAMS.
- Preparing competitive tenders and designing the scope and methodology for archaeological reporting.
- Producing or contributing to archaeological desk-based assessment, and environmental impact assessments.
- Undertaking stakeholder, curator and client liaison.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience Essential

- Master’s degree in Archaeology.
- 15-18 years’ experience in archaeology, with an emphasis on fieldwork.
- Experience of archaeological fieldwork project management (project, financial and staff management).




- Robust knowledge of UK and Republic of Ireland archaeology and history and also knowledge of the planning process and relevant environmental / heritage legislation and guidance.
- Experience in most or all of the following areas: archaeology, heritage and planning, masterplanning, infrastructure planning, sustainability masterplanning, multi-disciplinary collaboration and business development.
- Excellent writing skills, and are a good communicator and team player.
- A highly motivated, conscientious and efficient approach to work, and are able to meet deadlines and budget within a busy consultancy environment.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies (CIfA)

- Develop capability and grow CH&A; team to suit business and project needs, maintaining a delivery focused environment
- Input into the recruitment and selection process
- Manage resources to ensure the right resources are utilised effectively at the right time across their team and projects
