Sunstripe is seeking a Lead – Power Markets & Trading Advisory to establish and lead our power markets practice across the United States, United Kingdom, and India .

The role will build Sunstripe's capabilities across power market analytics, forecasting, dispatch, trading advisory, and asset optimization , supporting utilities, IPPs, renewable and energy storage developers, and large energy consumers. This is a practice-building leadership position requiring a combination of power market expertise, quantitative capability, commercial judgment, and strong industry relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish and lead Sunstripe's Power Markets & Trading Advisory practice across India / US / UK.
- Build capabilities in load, generation, renewable, and power price forecasting.
- Advise clients on scheduling, dispatch, bidding, and market participation strategies.
- Develop trading and optimization strategies for BESS, renewable, hybrid, conventional generation, and flexible-load portfolios.
- Support participation across day-ahead, real-time/intraday, balancing, ancillary services, capacity, and other applicable markets.
- Develop BESS revenue-stacking, cycling, bidding, and dispatch optimization strategies.
- Support utilities and asset owners with portfolio optimization, generation scheduling, power procurement, and market strategy.
- Develop forecasting and optimization solutions for large energy consumers, including data centers.
- Evaluate merchant exposure, PPAs, tolling structures, hedging approaches, and other commercial structures.
- Build quantitative models and analytical tools for forecasting, market simulation, dispatch optimization, and revenue analysis.




- Work closely with Sunstripe's Power Systems, BESS, and Data Center Engineering practices to connect market opportunities with physical asset and grid constraints.
- Build relationships with utilities, IPPs, developers, traders, market operators, exchanges, investors, and large energy consumers.
- Lead client engagements, proposals, business development, and development of new advisory offerings.
- Recruit and develop a team across power markets, quantitative analytics, forecasting, dispatch, and optimization.

Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of experience in power markets, electricity trading, market advisory, dispatch, forecasting, or asset optimization .
- Strong understanding of wholesale electricity markets and power system operations.
- Experience with forecasting, scheduling, bidding, dispatch, trading analytics, and/or portfolio optimization.
- Experience with BESS and renewable generation is strongly preferred.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and commercial capabilities.
- Experience in one or more of the Indian, US and UK power markets, with multi-market experience preferred.
- Robust client-facing and relationship-building capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear commercial, investment, and operational recommendations.
- Experience building a market advisory, trading analytics, consulting, or similar practice is highly desirable.
