- We are seeking a proactive and skilled Senior Perl Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and cloud-native applications.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Perl development, RESTful APIs, AWS services, SQL databases, and distributed application architectures.
- This role requires collaboration with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced setting.

Essential Job Functions:

- Design, develop, and deploy new features and APIs using Perl and modern Perl frameworks such as Mojolicious, Catalyst, or Dancer.
- Develop and manage data workflows and integration pipelines using AWS services including S3, SQS, and SNS.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and platform engineering teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs to support enterprise application integrations.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while ensuring platform stability and performance.
- Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as New Relic and Jaeger.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
- Manage and support containerized environments.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline operational and development activities.
- Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve application scalability, reliability, and maintainability.




- Good to Have: Implement computer vision and image-processing solutions using OpenCV, Perl OpenCV bindings, or ImageMagick.
- Good to Have: Collaborate on front-end development using React.

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Mandatory: Strong hands-on experience in Perl backend development.
- Mandatory: Extensive experience with AWS services including S3, SQS, and SNS.
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with Perl frameworks such as Mojolicious, Catalyst, or Dancer.
- Strong understanding of Perl package management using CPAN and dependency management practices.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing backend applications in production environments.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic or Jaeger.

Good to Have Skills
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) orchestration platforms.
- Familiarity with React and modern front-end development practices.
- Experience with OpenCV, Perl image-processing libraries, and/or ImageMagick.
- Knowledge of computer vision and image-processing concepts.

Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of experience in backend application development using Perl.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
- Experience working with AWS-native integration services and scalable cloud architectures.
