Summary The Lead Developer is accountable for designing, building, testing, and supporting scalable solutions across three core domains: SAP development (ECC and S/4HANA), enterprise integrations (A2A/B2B/EDI), and Robotic Process Automation. The role translates business requirements into secure, reliable, and supportable technical outcomes leveraging classical ABAP and modern SAP capabilities (CDS, OData, RAP, Fiori/UI5), an enterprise integration platform (e.g., Boomi) and API/EDI patterns, and UiPath for automation (Studio, Orchestrator, REFramework, Document Understanding).
The Lead
Developer partners with product owners, business analysts, architects, and global delivery teams; establishes and enforces coding and documentation standards; mentors other developers; and drives continuous improvement and modernization, including S/4HANA transformation and automation-first practices. Occasional after-hours support may be needed for critical releases or incidents
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical design and development across SAP (ECC/S4), integrations, and RPA, selecting the right pattern or platform based on requirements and non-functional needs (performance, reliability, security).
- Design, develop, and maintain SAP custom objects and extensions: reports/ALV, RFCs/function modules, enhancements/BADIs, IDocs/ALE, forms; contemporary artifacts including CDS views, OData services, RAP, and Fiori/UI5.
- Design and implement integrations using the standard platform (e.g., Boomi) and integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs, messaging/queues, file, EDI/IDoc); build resilient exception handling, logging/monitoring, and re-usable components.
- Design, build, test,
and deploy RPA automations using UiPath Studio and Orchestrator, utilizing REFramework, queues, triggers, selectors, and Document Understanding; implement robust error handling and telemetry.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications; estimate effort; plan deliverables; and uphold coding standards, documentation, and security-by-design guidelines.
- Perform unit, integration, and system testing; participate in peer reviews; ensure traceability and high-quality documentation (designs, configurations, test evidence, run-books).
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, PMO, product/BA/BRM, platform teams (data, integration, automation), and security/compliance to align solutions to enterprise standards and roadmaps.
- Establish and track delivery and operational metrics (e.g., defect density, cycle time, SLA adherence, bot success rates); identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in processes, tooling, and architecture.
- Mentor and coach developers; promote knowledge reuse via templates, shared components, and inner-source practices; contribute to hiring and capability building.
- Operate within change, release, and incident processes; ensure compliance with audit and regulatory expectations where applicable. Essential Functions of the Role

- Communicate effectively via email, phone, and virtual platforms.
- Lead or support special projects aligned with departmental objectives. Education & Work Requirements
- Bachelor s Degree with 8-12 years of related experience Education & Work Preferences
- Master s degree in a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications: SAP ABAP/S/4HANA/Fiori; UiPath (UiRPA, UiARD); Boomi (Associate/Professional).
- Experience with API management, event-driven/microservices architectures, and CI/CD and version control (e.g., Git) for SAP, integrations, and automations.
- Knowledge of EDI standards and communication protocols (AS2, SFTP/FTPS, HTTP/S); familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors and SAP IDoc scenarios.
- Experience with observability, centralized logging, and operational dashboards for integrations and automations.
- Exposure to cloud platforms for side-by-side extensions and automation workloads;
experience contributing to coding standards and reusable libraries.
