JobPurpose The Safety Manager isresponsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuouslyimproving the Airport Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance withnational aviation regulations, ICAO standards, airport operator requirements,and industry best practices. The role focuses on maintaining a safe operatingenvironment for passengers, employees, airlines, contractors, and stakeholderswhile promoting a strong safety culture across the airport.

KeyResponsibilities

SafetyManagement System (SMS)

- Develop, implement, and maintain the Airport Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance with ICAO Annex 19, DGCA regulations, and airport safety requirements.
- Review and update safety policies, procedures, and manuals regularly.
- Establish safety objectives and monitor safety performance indicators (SPIs).

RiskAssessment Hazard Management

- Conduct safety risk assessments for airport operations and infrastructure projects.
- Identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Maintain hazard reporting and risk registers.
- Monitor effectiveness of safety controls and corrective actions.

RegulatoryCompliance

- Ensure airport compliance with aviation safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinate audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
- Liaise with aviation authorities, airlines, ground handlers, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in aviation safety regulations and implement necessary updates.

IncidentInvestigation

- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and safety occurrences.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions.




- Prepare detailed investigation reports for management and regulatory authorities.
- Track closure and effectiveness of corrective actions.

SafetyAudits and Inspections

- Conduct routine airside and landside safety inspections.
- Perform internal audits of operational departments and contractors.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.
- Recommend improvements based on audit findings.

SafetyTraining and Awareness

- Develop and deliver safety training programs for airport personnel.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and reporting culture.
- Support emergency response training and drills.
- Ensure employees understand and comply with safety procedures.

EmergencyPreparedness

- Support development and maintenance of Airport Emergency Plans (AEP).
- Participate in emergency exercises and crisis management activities.
- Coordinate safety aspects of emergency preparedness and response.
- Review lessons learned from drills and actual emergencies.

SafetyReporting and Performance Management

- Analyze safety data, trends, and performance indicators.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual safety reports.
- Present safety performance updates to senior management.
- Recommend proactive safety improvement initiatives.

Contractorand Stakeholder Management





- Monitor contractor compliance with airport safety requirements.
- Participate in contractor prequalification and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with airlines, regulators, emergency services, and operational departments on safety matters.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's Degree - Aviation Management, Engineering, Aviation Safety, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.

Certifications(Preferred)

- ICAO Safety Management.
- Safety Management System 5 Days from
- Occupational Health Safety certifications.

Experience

- 10-15 years of aviation safety, airport operations, or regulatory compliance experience.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in implementing and managing Safety Management Systems.
- Experience conducting safety investigations and audits.
