About the Role

We are looking for an experienced L3 Application Support Engineer with solid Java Development expertise to support and enhance mission-critical applications for a leading global investment banking client. This role combines production support, incident management, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, automation, and hands-on Java development. Candidates will be expected to resolve complex production issues while actively contributing to code enhancements, bug fixes, and application reliability improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L3 support for business-critical applications in production.
- Troubleshoot high-severity incidents, perform RCA, and implement permanent fixes.
- Monitor application health, performance, and availability.
- Develop and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build code fixes, enhancements, REST APIs, and backend services.
- Analyze logs, system metrics, and application performance issues.
- Support deployments, releases, and automation initiatives.
- Work closely with Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Business teams.
- Participate in on-call support and ITIL-based incident/problem management.

Required Skills

1. 4-8 years of experience in Application Support and Java Development.
2. Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
3. Excellent Java coding skills (Mandatory).
4. Strong understanding of OOP, Collections, Multithreading, and Design Patterns.
5. Experience troubleshooting and debugging Java applications.
6.



Strong SQL knowledge including Joins, Aggregations, Subqueries, and Indexing.
7. Good Unix/Linux knowledge including grep, find, ps, chmod, tail, log analysis, and basic shell scripting.
8. Experience with REST APIs and distributed applications.

Preferred Skills

- Investment Banking / Financial Services domain experience.
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
- AWS Cloud exposure.
- Kafka, MQ, RabbitMQ.
- Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, ELK, or Grafana.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
