About The Job:

- We are looking for a talented and experienced Juniper Routing and Switching Engineer to join our team.

- The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Juniper network hardware and software, including the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Juniper routers and switches in complex network environments.

- You will work on deploying and maintaining scalable, high-performance networks while ensuring optimal network performance and security.

Essential Job Functions:

Juniper Routing & Switching Configuration:

- Configure, install, and maintain Juniper routers (MX, SRX, etc.) and switches (EX, QFX series) for large-scale networks.

- Implement routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, RIP, IS-IS, and MPLS on Juniper devices.

- Manage virtual LANs (VLANs), IP addressing, and subnetting to ensure network connectivity and optimal routing.

Network Design & Architecture:

- Assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructure based on Juniper hardware and software.

- Collaborate with teams to develop scalable network solutions that meet business and operational requirements.

- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure network architecture aligns with overall IT strategy.

Network Troubleshooting & Support:

- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to Juniper routers, switches, and network infrastructure.

- Use tools like Junos Space, Junos OS CLI, and other network diagnostic tools to identify and resolve performance issues.

- Provide support for high-availability network configurations and ensure service continuity.

Firmware & Software Management:

- Regularly update and patch Junos OS to maintain device security and functionality.

- Plan and execute software upgrades, patches, and network maintenance activities with minimal downtime.

- Maintain proper version control and documentation of software and configuration changes.

Network Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

- Monitor network performance using Juniper monitoring tools and third-party solutions (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).





- Implement network monitoring policies to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.

- Optimize network configurations to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.

Security & Compliance:

- Configure and manage network security features such as firewall policies, VPN, and access control lists (ACLs) on Juniper devices.

- Implement best practices for network security, including traffic encryption and network segmentation.

- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.

Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configuration files, and other relevant documentation.

- Provide detailed incident reports, network health reports, and performance statistics to leadership.

- Document network changes and system updates in compliance with change management processes.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:

- Collaborate with network and systems engineers, as well as other IT teams, to ensure seamless integration of services.

- Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members.

Qualifications

Experience

- 5+ years of experience working with Juniper routing and switching products in a production environment.

- Strong knowledge of Junos OS, including configuration and troubleshooting.

- Hands-on experience with Juniper MX, SRX, EX, QFX series routers and switches.

- Experience with routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, RIP, and MPLS.

- Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools for network management (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).

Technical Skills

- Proficient in Juniper routing and switching technologies (Junos OS, Juniper devices).

- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NTP, etc.).

- Expertise in network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, ACLs).

- Experience with SD-WAN, QoS, and high-availability network designs.

- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools

Certifications





- Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA-Junos) or higher is highly desirable.

- Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP) or similar certifications is a plus.

- CCNA or CCNP certifications would be advantageous.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and in a team workplace.

- Proactive approach to problem-solving and network optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with cloud technologies and hybrid network environments.

- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) concepts.

- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
