About the Role

Holofix Interiors is expanding its operations in Calicut with a new showroom in collaboration with HomeLane Interiors.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Joinery Draftsman / Furniture Detailer who can convert interior design concepts into accurate, practical, and production-ready technical drawings.

The candidate will work closely with interior designers, project coordinators, production teams, vendors, and site teams to ensure that all custom furniture and joinery drawings are technically accurate and suitable for manufacturing and installation.

Key Responsibilities1. Joinery & Furniture Drawings

- Prepare detailed technical drawings for custom furniture and interior joinery.
- Develop production-ready drawings based on approved designs.
- Prepare detailed drawings for:
- Modular kitchens
- Wardrobes
- TV units
- Crockery units
- Vanity units
- Storage units
- Beds and bedside tables
- Study tables
- Display units
- Office furniture
- Wall panelling
- False ceiling-related joinery
- Other customized interior furniture
- Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.
- Provide accurate dimensions, levels, clearances, and construction details.
- Develop exploded views or assembly details wherever required.

1. Production & Manufacturing Detailing

- Prepare drawings that can be directly understood and executed by the production/carpentry team.
- Specify appropriate materials, thicknesses, edge bands, hardware, finishes, and construction methods.
- Detail carcasses, shutters, drawers, shelves, partitions, supports, profiles, and other joinery components.
- Ensure drawings are practical from a manufacturing and installation perspective.
- Coordinate with vendors/fabricators to clarify technical requirements.

1. Material & Hardware Knowledge

The candidate should have a good understanding of:
- MDF
- HDF
- Plywood
- Particle board
- Laminates
- Acrylic
- Veneer
- Glass
- PVC/edge banding
- Solid wood
- Aluminium profiles
- Hardware and fittings
- Hinges
- Drawer channels
- Lift-up mechanisms
- Handles and profiles
- Kitchen accessories
- Wardrobe accessories

Knowledge of commonly used modular furniture hardware and fittings will be highly preferred.





1. Site Measurement & Coordination

- Review site measurements and existing site conditions.
- Verify dimensions before preparing final production drawings.
- Coordinate with the site team regarding measurements, openings, walls, electrical points, plumbing points, ceiling levels, and other site constraints.
- Modify drawings based on actual site conditions.
- Attend site visits when required.
- Coordinate with interior designers and project managers to resolve technical issues.

1. Design Coordination

- Work closely with Interior Designers to understand design intent.
- Convert design concepts and 3D visuals into technically feasible joinery.
- Identify design or construction issues before production.
- Suggest practical alternatives where the proposed design is difficult or impractical to manufacture.
- Ensure the final drawings match the approved design and customer requirements.

1. Drawing Revisions & Documentation

- Incorporate design changes and customer modifications accurately.
- Maintain proper revision control of drawings.
- Ensure the latest approved drawings are shared with production and site teams.
- Maintain organised records of project drawings and technical documents.
- Prepare drawing sets according to project requirements.

1. Production & Installation Support

- Coordinate with production teams during manufacturing.
- Clarify drawing-related queries from carpenters, fabricators, and installers.
- Provide technical clarification when required during installation.
- Review finished components against approved drawings.
- Assist in resolving fabrication and installation-related issues.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and technical drafting.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and interior drawings.
- Good understanding of furniture construction and joinery detailing.
- Good knowledge of materials, hardware, and finishes.
- Strong attention to dimensions and detailing.
- Ability to identify technical and site-related issues.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work within deadlines.




- Ability to handle multiple projects/drawing revisions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Furniture Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Joinery Draftsman, Furniture Draftsman, Interior Draftsman, or similar role.
- Experience in modular kitchens, wardrobes, residential interiors, and custom furniture will be an advantage.
- Candidates with practical experience working with carpentry/fabrication or modular furniture production will be preferred.
